Notes:
a) ALL average pool maintenance product costs for 10 to 90 thousand gallon pools are listed below.
b) *Energy cost may vary but regardless My Natural Pool can reduce Pool Pump energy costs by up to 90%. The reason is, My Natural Pool enables pool pump running time to be reduced from 10 to 12 hours (typically required for pools maintained by chlorine, bromine or salt generators) usually to just 1 hour.
c) *First year My Natural Pool savings is approximately 20% less than the following years. The initial MNP treatment requires twenty five percent additional product to reach the proper MNP maintenance level.

Notes:
a) Since homes with swimming pools tend to be 15% larger than homes without pools we factored that into the 42% estimated and rounded off average (49 X 85% = 42%) higher energy cost for homes with swimming pools.
b) Many pool owners that service their own pools simply don’t realize the total yearly cost of maintaining a chlorinated pool. Today a 20,000 gal. swimming pool in a southern climate is likely to use $165 USD of chlorine. However, chlorine tablets (most commonly used) only account for 30 to 35% of the total annual pool product cost needed to maintain a chlorinated swimming pool.
Today with the degradation of our water supplies, chlorinated residential pools often experience two or three algae attacks each year. That is unless a high and unhealthy level of chlorine (3.0+ ppm) is maintained which is NOT RECOMMENDED since chlorine is a toxic and carcinogenic compound and the added risk especially to our children is simply not worth it. When an algae attack occurs both an algaecide and a high level of chlorine shock along with brushing the entire pool each day for three days, in addition to backwashing are often needed to fully eliminate the algae.
The fact is pool owners make multiple trips to their local pool store each year. Since most home pools are not a tax write off, few pool owners have ever tracked the total cost of pool maintenance. Today the total chemical cost to maintain a 20,000 gal. chlorinated pool in a southern climate for one year is estimated to be $500 to $550 USD.
* LEGAL DISCLOSURES: There are a wide variety of pool pumps on the market and while some offer variable speeds making them more efficient only a few are highly energy efficient. It is common knowledge when pools are properly maintained they should last a very long time, and the same is true for pool pumps. Consequently the vast majority of pools and pool pumps are 5 to 20 years old or older and the simple fact is that energy efficiency back then wasn’t a priority.
My Natural Pool makes no claims as to the amount of monies that pool owners will save beyond the simple fact that when pool owners convert to My Natural Pool the vast majority can reduce their daily pool pump running time by approximately 90%. Unlike chlorine, bromine and salt pools that require 10 to 12 hrs. of pump running time MNP doesn’t require circulation since the product and formula is highly stable. However pool sweeps generally require 30 to 40 minutes per day to maintain a clean pool. In addition, the surface of pools should be cleared by running the filtration system twice a day for 10 minutes each. As a result when pool owners adjust and reduce their pump running times accordingly an average of 90% energy consumption and or savings can be achieved.
Pool pump data in this report was carefully researched and all parties recognize that energy costs do vary by energy provider and location.
